Access: Integrated Information Access Options
To meet the needs of a diverse user audience, Information Quest offers three article delivery options. Option choices are dependent upon the libraries or individual user’s subscription or licensing agreement with the publisher, and/or publisher-defined access rights.
At present, Information Quest provides these options for accessing articles or abstracts:
Electronic Subscriber Option: If the user or library has a subscription to the electronic journal, IQ validates the subscription, then displays the full-text article in its original printed format on screen. Dependent on publisher-defined access rights, the user may or may not be able to copy or print the article.
Document Delivery Service: If the user does not have a subscription to the electronic journal, they may elect to order articles through IQ’s document delivery service. IQ offers document delivery though Uncover and British Library. IQ uses Cybercash to process your credit card orders. This is a secure, online credit card environment for placing orders on a pay-per-article arrangement (based on publisher-defined rates). Articles are delivered via facsimile.
Pay-Per-View: If you do not have a subscription to the electronic journal and the article is available to view on screen, you can buy it and have it delivered to your desktop. Again, IQ uses Cybercash to process credit card orders. You may also establish a deposit account to purchase articles.
In Library Function: This is an indicator of your library’s holdings which will allow users to identify if a paper copy of the article is available for review in your library.
